What is Team Banzai?
The complete answer to that question would fill a novel. Not a good novel, mind you. It would be a long, sordid tale with entire chapters about wombats, cheese, cranial trauma and trouser theft. No one in their right mind would publish such a novel, and if they did slander, lawsuits, bitter recriminations and international incidents would be the inevitable result.

So let's stick with the short answer, shall we? The short answer is that TB is a group of scruffy misfits, like-minded gamers and friends who formed a Mechwarrior unit/clan/team/faction about a decade ago. A list of relevant keywords would include terms like Irreverent, Goofy, Good Natured and Open. In spite of all that, TB established a reputation as a competitive unit and was considered a force to be reckoned with in several MW4 Leagues.

If you're wondering if we are that Team Banzai, then yes - that's us.

But the days of competitive MW4 League play are long past. The team has been basically mothballed, and the Banzai Institute has pretty much been a social hangout for 4 or 5 years now. We consider the fact that it's still here, and that people still hang out and drop by, to be a testament to how tight our group was. That's a pretty big deal to us.

What is the Banzai Institute?
That's what we call our website and forums. When TB was originally founded the concept we wanted to demonstrate was that you could field a competitive team, while still being an asset to the community, helping new players learn the game, and helping existing players to improve their skills. The Institute was conceived as a place where we could host guides, tutorials, and walkthroughs. All that is gone now, and none of it would be relevant anyway, but the name remains because we like it.

Is Team Banzai going to be active in Mechwarrior: Online?
We honestly don't know yet. A lot of us have tried it. Some of us are playing it actively. Others are keeping an eye on it to see how it develops. If we reach any kind of 'critical mass' of interest, we may get involved in an organized way. We're taking a "wait and see" approach, and at this point, the final verdict on that is probably months down the road. If we don't get into it as a group, some members will probably get involved with other MW:O units.

Is Team Banzai going to play MW:O Community Warfare as the 'Team Banzai' mercenary unit?
Nobody really knows how that's going to work yet, and it's an especially odd case for us. Banzai was sort of a canon merc unit, and sort of not. How PGI wants to address all of that is up to them. It certainly wouldn't be a very interesting merc unit, because they would only ever work for the Davions anyway. Similar to the last question, the answer would be that we're taking a "wait and see" approach.

Is Team Banzai recruiting MW:O players?
We've never recruited. We're a group of friends, and when we expanded, it was usually by members inviting friends. Even under those circumstances, we're not really looking at new members right now. It simply wouldn't be fair to people to have them join on the basis of a specific game, when we don't even know if we're going to play it.

Nope. But I'd read it if they did. Image

Yep. Now all we need is a publishing house.

And writing talent.
