I remember it. Sorta. It's all just been a bit overlayed by years of MW4, and I've only played 3 for a short while compared to 2, 4, and more recently MWO.

I remember shooting out mech legs for easy(ier) kills.

Yeah, the kills are easier and sometimes you get a lot more salvage, including chassis that haven't been blown to pieces.
