Please, someone tell me what I've done this time before I shoot my computer and then myself.

Yes, I've broken it again.

It keeps randomly resetting, sometimes after 2 mins of operation, sometimes after 10 mins, sometimes instantly.

The one thing I know it is not is an underrated power supply (on account of only getting a new one with enough kick a few months ago)

Anyway, on the blue screens I'm sometimes getting, Pagefile.sys and win32k.sys are coming up as invalid among a few others I can't really remember (a database was one of them).

If it means anything I run Windows XP on 512 DDr Ram, 1.6 AMD processor (stop laughing at the weediness !) and have a Geforce 4 graphics card, one of the 128 meg ones (which is better than the 32meg Geforce 2 it replaced smile.gif )

Anyway, if antyone has any bright ideas as to what's going on, I'd be grateful for any help.

My first guess is that's not near enough ram. I seem to remember XP taking almost a full 512 itself or something like that.

If you can, slap in another 512 and that should get rid of it for testing. Sounds like a low ram issue to me.

Remember i'm no computer guru though. smile.gif

XP's always run fine on my RAM, cheers though, I've run it for 2 years on that very same stick and never had issues. Course it could be the same thing that killed my old PSU -

old age creeping in.

Sounds like something is getting hot. Check all your fans to make sure they are running and don't have dust bunnies the size of cows in there.

I'm thinking the memory may have kicked the bucket. Try running memtest on it and see what happens.
