I would like to start with a Brief Introduction. My name is Agate and i am what i consider a mechwarrior and battle tech fanatic, I will admit i have not researched your forum very much but it looks like i may have found the right place for myself...

Now i will pose a question for you people. I am looking for the start up sound from mechwarrior two, with that nice lady telling me every thing is working properly. Is there one amond you who can explain to me how to get a copy of this sound.

Greetings Agate. Yep, you came to the right place. There is this app named GAP(Game Audio Player) that i think works well. Not for every game, but MW is one of the many. Here is the link. it takes some getting used to, but it works. I have used it on Diablo II, MW, and a few others. Have fun.

I have the actual sound byte/WAV at home...I'll set up a link this evening when I get home. I used that as my Win start sound for quite a while.

Go to your windows control panel>sounds and audio devices. Then click on the sounds tab. Look in the program events window for "Start Windows", browse to the .wav sound ya want then apply.

Welcome to the Institute Agate!

My son and I had a convo about this yesterday. We wanted to know if there was a way to record your own sounds or phrases and replace the standard phrases in the game with them. We wanted to do a whole slew of different Computer personalities for MW4...like the surfer dude onboard computer who, when you whack a bad guy says "THAT DUDE IS TOAST!" Or to steal Eddie Murphy's idea for a ghetto voice in a vehicle, when an enemy hits you it says "I know you didn't just shoot me fool!" stuff like that. we had a good laugh coming up with different characters for it but we don;t know if it is technically possible.
Anyone know if there is a proggy out there that would let us do that?

The people who made the HD patch obviously have the ability to replace game sounds, but I'd guess that you need special tools to do it (though I could be wrong).
