I recently noticed, that the ModSwitcher of Mektek is no more supported. But nevertheless want to play both: Mercs: PR1 And Mercs with the MechPak (by the way, which one do i need? 3.1 or 2.1a?)

What do I have to do?

First off, I'm pretty sure most people are patched up to the latest version, which is 3.01 if I'm not mistaken.

On the matter of multiple installs, I can help ya on that. Being that I've got several. What I did is to patch the stock install, the one that automatically goes to C:Program Files/Microsoft Games/Mechwarrior Mercenaries, up to the latest version of the MekPaks. Now, for another install, I created a folder for it on my drive, naming it for whatever the install was for. In your case, it would be something like MercsPR1. Then, install the game again, by running the exe on the disc. When it asks for a location, browse to the folder you created and install it there. Patch that one to PR1, and there ya go. If you want another desktop icon for the second install, just look in the Mercs folder in that install and export the game exe to your desktop, then rename it.

Yes, that helped, hadn't thought it would be so easy. I assumed it would mess up, since there are entries for both installations in the registry.
