No matter what I do, the mechs in boot camp won't activate, ever. none of them. they just sit there.

I don't know if I just have horrible luck, or someone is out to get me(or make it really hard to get better before I go online), but this really sucks. Any way to fix it? Please?

F3nr1L: I suspect you just have Horrible luck but fear not.

The old Banzai Boot Camp never did work right in single player. It does work in multiplayer though if you host your own server and play it from there. You can lock your server with a password and that would make it as good as single player.

However, your exactly the type of player I need right now to test Banzia Boot Camp 2s training ranges.
I'll be announcing a beta night this week to test it online and Im giving you my personal invitation to come along and help if you want to.

The develope thread for the mission is here.

Here is the current multiplayer beta you can try out right now.

http://www.mechstorm.net/betatester/banzai...camp2_beta1.zip

There will be a new beta release for the beta night which I expect will be on satuday around 7 or 8pm EST, thats 1 or 2pm for me in the UK.

The idea is to test the training ranges before proceeding to add the rest of the stuff to mission. The training ranges are there for being publicily tested first. They offer the same sort of training as the first mission did but this time its better and even configable.

To join you will need to have a PR1 install of mercs, thats just mercs and the PR1 patch. No mech packs.

Hope you can attend, id like to know what you think and where you have issues so i can fix it before the testing goes private and we start adding the cool stuff.

cool, I think I might be able to do that...
But I have the same question: Do I have to completely reinstall everything?

Gundancer: You could run a HC or MP beta night for those who are not PR1.

If I patched up to HC or MP then sooner or later somebody would be dispointed when a release failed to work with one of the mech packs or PR1 installs. We have already seen the results of this at mechstorm when Starfire tried to show me a bug in a map by making up an example and giving it to me. The example map didnt work because he used MP stuff.

PR1 is the only way to ensure the map works on all installs and not just one version.

Sorry bud but the situation is not one i created but it is one mechstorm has to live with. Mechstorm is currently the only group that appears to consider backwards compatibility at all.

F3nr1L:

You shouldnt have too, just rename your mercs folder if you have mp3 or HC installed and reinstall mercs and the pr1 patch. When your done you will have a pr1 install and a mp/hc install. And need only rename the folder that contains the install you want to use back to its original name.

Tell ya' what... Let me talk to my Khan, and see if we can setup a server next week for HC, with BBC2.

Would that work for ya'?

Just in case this is the problem, the mechs at the base don't move, they are for testing weapon damage, you need to go to one of the training ranges and activate those mechs by crossing the boundaries.

Hello Gundancer:

Yes that would work great for me.

Im going to prepare the beta 2 today and post the details for the server as well as some information about key areas id like feedback on. Id like feedback on all training areas actually but there are some areas i cannot test on my own and those are the most important areas to test as the client.
