when i start the game i get this error STOP: cannot find videocard.txt

anyone know how i can solve this? thx in advance

Was your game working before, and this error just started? or is this a new install? Add any patches or mods lately?

My initial response would be a re-install of the game, but a little more info on your situation might lead to a less drastic solution from the gurus around here......

If you're playing on a Windows XP system, is the account you're using to play the game authorized as an Administrator account? If it's not, the game won't run, because the game is trying to edit things like videocard.txt, which will be in the root directory of the game, which is in Program Files, where only Admin-level accounts are allowed to make changes.

did you try and modify or change the .txt file?

i just installed it never played it before and didnt do anything to it and iam on administrator account

it asked for videocard.txt and i only had VIDEO_C.txt so i renamed it so he would read the right file at the right pad and it worked
