Full Version: Mechs sliding after falling down

In a game yesterday I saw a Gladiator fall and then start to slide along the ground as he was getting back up. Is this a trick like hitting full throttle when in a crouch? If so, looks like it might come in handy. I have seen light mechs do this, but never an assault.

IIRC it's partly to do with Pings to the server.

I used to gall it "The Green Slide" or "The Erllectric Slide" because it's normally ERLL snipers knocking a light over that causes it.

If you pound G as fast asa you can while you're just falling down after the initial shot, it will cause (normally) what you're describing. That's really annoying in McRugby and CTF.

Or when a certain guy from OK is driving a Flea on Parkhenge. I finally get a shot on said Flea and knock him down only to watch him slide halfway across the map. cussing.gif

It's a lot of fun to go sliding across places like that, used to throw that and superturn together and have a ton of fun. cool.gif
Arrgghh!

Why do I suspect Mau had a macro to push the G key a 1000 times in a split second? blink.gif

You don't? I thought everyone did.

You mean I've been doing it the hard way?

iamwithstupid.gif Gotta agree with a fellow newbie; I rarely have my finger anywhere near "G" and I slide most times ppl whack me hard enough to be *knocked*down*.

I'd just thought it was something MekTek put in with their mods - never saw it with the original MW4 mercs, but everytime my little solitare/flea/etc. gets caught, I get my paintjob ruined. smile.gif

IMO, I think it's realistic - vehicle going 100+kph and then gets toppled by impact, and drops STATIONARY at point of impact? no, it's going to slide.

Oh, and off-topic kinda: I like arm-mounted weaps; when you get knocked down, you can still twist and shoot back at your 'tripper' while working on getting up smile.gif
