Im looking forward to League Play in Mercs and i whonder what Kind of Leagues are availible.

Could some one give me an overview about the different Leagues.

Im especially interested in Solaris Style and 1on1 Fights and i prefer 3rd Person View.

I looked through some Links but couldn find the Rulings regarding 3rd Person View.

I prefer 3rd Person but would change to FFP only, if there are no Leagues for 3rd Person View.

Btw is Ronin FFP?

Thx in Advance

MWL is a good place to start. They have several types of ladders for players that are not part of a team. I think the Solaris league and the Duelist League might be what you are looking for. And no Ronin is not FFP smile.gif

Thx, do you know if these Leagues you named are FFP? NBT Solaris and MWL Duelist League. Are there any other like this 2?
Siegfried
MWL Duelist has at least 4 different conferences of which at least one is FFP. I know one caters for stock mechs, one is a mixtech whatever works arrangement and another enforces puretech although don't ask me what the 4th is. You can find out more at MWL homepage, go to menu marked "Rules" and you'll find the rules for Duellist League and Solaris League there. NBT Solaris is pending and is not running yet. This will undoubtedly be a puretech arrangement although it may not be FFP. I believe it will emphasise the Role Playing element more which may or may not be your kind of thing. I don't know of any other leagues that offer this kind of event though.

Just some further clarification:

MWL Duelist League has four divisions. One of them is FFP and puretech, the other three (Mixtech, Stock, NHUA) allow 3PV.

MWL Solaris League has five divisions. One of them is FFP, the Open division in which mechs of any weight class are allowed. The other four divisions allow 3PV, and restrict you to mechs of the varying chassis classifications, light, medium, heavy, and assault.

I read through the Rulesset and it says Pilots are restricted to the Mech chosen by the Automation. What exactly does that mean?

If you are talking about the Duelist league it means when you challenge or are challenged by another pilot the program at MWL will assign a mech chassis and a map that must be used for the match. I don't think you are restricted to a mech chassis in Solaris just a weight class. I haven't particpated in Solaris or the Duelist league but this is typically how the rest of the competition ladders at MWL work. I'm sure the lawyer will be around later to explain the Solaris ruleset. tongue.gif

The rodent is correct. The automation selects the mech for Duelist League match-ups, but in Solaris any mech within the weight class of the division may be used.

Thx for the Answers, sounds funny and challenging.
