I've been trying in every chassis with JJs for the last few hours and I can't seem to DFA myself. Any pointers, BK?

Simple.
Grab a light or medium Mech with jets and good speed, and take it to Rubblepile. Rocketmech off one of the slopes, fly up and smack your head on one of the girders above.
Die from it.
