Lately Ive started to use a brawler thanatos and ive had good success with it. My config is clbx20, clbx10, 2 Heavy med lasers and cSSTRK 6 plus jump jets and full FF armour.
Anyone else still using the thanatos and if so, have any post mechtech expansion configs?

Old School is still the best:
3 LBX AC10's & 2 IS Large Lasers is mean.
I have a new config that I'm testing that I like:
1 IS AC10, 1 HV AC20 and 2 IS large lasers
Another good one is to load her up with with 2 IS Small Lasers, 1 IS Small Pulse Laser, 1 IS Small X-Pulse Laser & 6 IS Machine Guns.

Found one that I've really liked a lot lately:
Croos Tech Version - LL, RX2+2, CB20+2, SS6+1, ECM, IFF, JJ, 72 KPH, Almost full ff
Pure Tech Version - LL, RX2+1, LB20+1, SM6+1, ECM, IFF, JJ, 72 KPH, Almost full ff
Group 1 - CB20/LB20, RX2, LL
Group 2 - RX2, LL
Group 3 - SS6/SM6
Great heat, not to slow, pleanty of armor, and the firing rate is staggered enough to always be hitting them with something (use the ss6 as FU damage)

hgr,2lxpl
ecm, jj, 6 sinks
75 kph
could remove jj for for speed and another heat sink, if you don't think you'd need them, but it runs cool enough to kill people without overheating anyway. 2 lxp have nasty knock fired together or chained. try the same on a dragon (except with no sinks) for cold maps.

Sorry, Dio... here ya go
LL = Inner Sphere large Laser
RX2 = Rotary Auto Cannon 2
CB20 = Clan LBX Auto Cannon 20
LB20 = Inner Sphere Auto Cannon 20
SS6 = Clan Streak Short Range Missle 6
SM6 = Inner Sphere Short Range Missle 6
FU Damage = Well... you'll have to figure that one out on your own.

Its more mean then it sounds because the mixed reload times make it hard 2 fire back. I also have a sniper thanny. 3light gauss and 2erll. It has no jets but its very powerful.
Edit: Try this 1
1clbx20 1clbx10 1atm12m 1atm6m 2chml with JJ. This is 1 of my new fav thannys. Try it and u will b suprized.

LOL, here is a list for the "rac slingin' n00bz"
3 Rac2's and 2 ERL's + all the armor and spped you can fit. Not to hot, not too cool, .....just right
3 Rac2's and 2 ISL's + all the armor and spped you can fit. Very cool running
2 Rac2's and 2 LXPLS. Pretty warm, but hey, it is PT all the way. Pretty much a large version of Gwyd's strafing dragon, but I *need * the exrta armor
2 Rac2's, 1 ERPLS, MLx2 and depending on temp, CSTK's
3 Rac2's, 4 CMPLS, CTSK's
Alternate between the RAC's and everything else
Bunch of armor on everything, usually stripped down to minimum on the head and half on the back. Minimum pulled from everywhere else. Fero on all BTW.
If you play it right, by the time anything closes on you, they are going to be so chewed up from the RAC's you will be able finish with the rest of your loadout.
Notice I said this was only for the greener players and as you progress, you will naturally gravitate to something else

Work it between 8 and 900 as much as possible and most important.........STAY BEHIND THE FREAKIN WALL

Dio, drop one of the cHML's for a regular IS med laser and get rid of the sinks; then you can add jumpjets with the same heat efficiency and about the same raw punch.

keep the same raw punch.

Pay no attention to this one, he is the ONLY one I know that can pull it off, lol. I have taken a couple of configs close to some of his *warmer*stuff, and can barely keep my G*(&(*&(*&(* mech running

Classic 3ltg than, with your choice of options and colors
My fav brawler than is 3 ac10 full special armor. Choice depends on map. Lacks full punch, however, in a big brawl, 2.6 sec recylce on 27 points isnt bad, esp with the knock, and people get pissed when you chain.
