Okay, I've been working on this off and on for about a week now...and now that I've finally got a version of it put together, semi-working, and fairly complete, I decided I'd like a bit 'o feed back on it.

It's a sort-of personal site I've been working on for a long while now, and after losing two versions of it previously due to two separate problems with my Laptop (well...same problem, just on two separate occasions. tongue.gif ) that I liked.

Anyway, as you can tell it's not complete, I still have to set up the news-area (a few tables in the midst of that big grey box), work on getting a Site Search-Bar working, and of course, fix the links, and add the other pages.

The new one.

Baisically, I just want to know what y'all think of it, and get some criticism on it, so I can make changes and such. And don't be afraid (Yeah...afraid of me...HAH! tongue.gif ) to tell me it sucks...if it sucks, I want to know so.

Anyway, the older version can be found here: Runawaymind V.2.

(If you like the old version, go ahead and tell me that too. tongue.gif I've actually got a .PSD of the layout somewhere, but it's missing a few things that I could easily add.)

Thanks! biggrin2.gif

hehe i used to tear sites to pieces for elated.com so here ya go

Things that you should work on -

1.) your tect in each of ur menu images is off bya few pixels, they dont line up all the way, fix that things will look more professional,

2.) Your top menu and ur left buttons dont go to well together, i dont how to pin it down, it might be the bottom part of the top menu, they just dont go well together

3.) This isnt really a big deal but ur top banner should be more pronounced then the rest of the site, unless thats what u were going for, the words in the banner dont stand out very well from its backround. (more of a personal thing, it still looks fine.)

Things that are good -

1.) I personally like the font style u used (hooge_53) it keeps things simple.

2.) Color scheme works well, and you can add alot onto the color scheme later.

3.) Layout is good, and easily expanadable/changed.

I used to do this all the time on elated's site (they made web templates) so i may sound abit harsh but it is only constructive critism

Yeah, I see what you mean by the text in the menu-buttons, guess I forgot to finish aligning all of those... wink.gif Allwell, I can get to that tomorrow.

As for the side-bar...yeah, I think I'd have to agree with the funny-label things not matching either...I'm thinking I'll replace the pill-shape with rectangles, and maybe do abit of color-burning around them. I'm also thinking that the side-bar will actually look a bit better if I do some perspective-shading (color dodging and burning, like in my siggy) with it, and give it some depth rather than allowing it to remain flat..

On the banner, I was going for a more, subdued, calm look...but yes, I see what you mean...I'll see if I can do something with that, get it to stand out a bit more, maybe do some dodging behind and around it, then maybe lighten up the color a bit more.

Anyway, the font was actually called "04b_08", it's essentially "Hooge_53" with a different name...I was just unable to find Hooge_53. wink.gif

Well, thanks for the help, I'll be sure to take that all into mind when I go back and fix some of it tomorrow. biggrin2.gif
