Bloody CRC problems! Whatever the hell that is!

I'm stuck on "props.mw4". I've deleted. Didn't work. Restored. Didn't help. AHHHH!!!!

CRC - Cyclic Redundancy Check

Its a way of calculating a check sum on a file or set of data to verify that it has not been changed or corrupted. I need to read through the readme file again but I thought there was section on trouble shooting that mentioned a similar type problem.

If you can restore the backup copy of the merc folder (hopefully you did that) and try and download it again. You may want to try a different mirror to see if there was problem in the transfer.

I got that the first time I tried to install, to fix it, all I did was a brand new, fresh install....


Started off by uninstalling the Mechpacks, then the game. Then I did the game, Mechpacks, PR1, Mektek Patch.

It was annoying to re-install though

Guys, try to remove CD patches and the Hudpatch. As the readme.txt says, you need unmodified mw4 mercs files for this to work.

I didn't have a CD patch, and I did uninstall my Hudpatch

If MW4 is ok, then I think it's a bad download.

Naw I got a similar glitch. I had to reinstall mercs, but only mercs and pr1. I left the mekpaks alone and everything seemed to run fine. MY Pak installer also seemed to stall on that file sandy so I just wen tand turned on the TV and came back and it was done. don't know what to tell ya.

With the help of Fury, I managed to fix it. I grabbed her props.mw4 file and used it to replace mine. Installation was fine after that.

Now....to reinstall Banzai skins and targeters.....

What targeters? Have the hud patch.

Don't forget to re-install the TB Active Armor also Sandy.

I got stuck on the CRC, so I said the Hell with it, I'm not turning back. I Insalled the pack without the switcher outright and it worked first time through. Sure, I can't go back to PR1, but I don't really care. I got my Urbie.

Well, just run the hudpatch and select "[default] uninstalled" for mercs, then run the switcher - that will fix the CRC problem. - You don't have to uninstall the hudpatch program itself.

I ran the switcher, got the MP1 installed, then ran the hudpatch again to get my minimaps, the energy reticle (love that one) and the nova cat, thanatos, vulture and madcat improved skins back...

The Terms are making Confusion.


You do not have to uninstall the HUDPATCHER. You do have to remove (unistall) the hud patches.

Isn't that what I just typed?
