I can fire one at and last about 2 minutes. When in water I can fire forever...with all three or chained forever.
Similar configs with Large Pulse Laser and ER Pulse Laser almost work as well.

No it's not an abomination, it's cool...you can't complain about someone putting together a 39HS ride.

I've tried this ride though I had four less heatsinks to add engine, LAMS and .5 ton of armor. It was lackluster for me. Does the +4HS make the difference?
I also have run that same mech but with 3x IS LPLS The short range makes it almost a brawler but considering other options I've not had success with it either.

The extra HS make all the differance in the heat.

Could someone kindly post a (working) photo of the Fafnir's mech hitboxes? (And Atlas and Daishi if avaiable) The Fafnir is by far my favortire mech, but for some reason doesnt seem to last as long then when I have an atlas.
Anyways, its not all that bad to have 8 UAC2's on your Faf either
I've used 2 HGR's and 2 ERPPC's, but it seems to load up alot of heat (more than to be effective in a prolonged firefight) so i use the 2 HGR's and throw on ER Large Pulse lazers to either arm

Just pilot one and look at your damage display that will give you a rough idea about the hitboxes , this does not work for mp mechs btw

Y'know.......most of my Fafies tend to have to possess the same exact weapons my Dragons carry, albeit that they are doubled.....

I'd be careful of piloting that Fafy if you drop with Didy or Gnosis

You may take more DFA head shots than Rocky did in all his movies

No......according to Gnosis, Fafies are very difficult to DFA. That is, you can knock them down, but it'd be difficult to hud them.
If I remember correctly. Then again, I've never tried it myself....

Actually, Shwinglepuck does more dfaing than the pair of us combined. As for me- I use a fast Thor with enough firepower to take most things out regardless of whether or not I dfa them, and when I use it, it's generally not with the exclusive intention of dfaing. I haven't used cougars for a while, and I wasn't that great at dfaing things with them even when I did.
And I haven't seen enough Fafnirs online to know well one way or the other if their hud takes damage when you bounce off the top of them. I suppose you might have to aim your trajectory more towards the front.

Some of the other Faffy's I've messed aroudn with are as follows:
2 HVAC 20's + 1 each
2 ER LL
3 H Med Laz
if you can manage to get in close, you'll do ALOT of damage- it also gives some good knock too when I chain them (something is constantly being fired at your enemy)
4 CUAC5's
2CUAC10
this ones good for medium to short range- the 4 UAC5's strip some armor and allow you to get in close for a big punch with the UAC10's. If Im close enough and get off the first shot, i've manage to take out other 100 ton mechs without even taking any damage, due to all the knock.
