I've downloaded 3DMark03 ... and it says that my "sideband addressing" is currently disabled. I think it could also detect if my system cannot support this feature (like my system cannot handle fast writes), it just says that SBA is disabled.
I could see it the driver option, but when clicking the checkbox to enable it ... nothing happens. It just reverts back to the off position when i re-check the driver settings.
Help is appreciated, tnx in advance.

shot in the dark here, but is that related to dx9? Dx9 has to be running for 03 to work.

Thanks MOK for trying. I have DX09 installed tough.

BTW, that WWII sim test is awesome. *resists urge to play flight sims*

It says GeForce2 GTS in its manual Catz.
While display driver says its GeForce2 GTS / GeForce2 Pro.

What version of drivers are you using?
Standard manufacturers ones?
Detonators?
Some info would help ?

I'm using Detonator.
ver. 6.13.10.4041.
I never updated this Detonator driver as it already works in my system - that's no more lock-ups, any weird video garbage or other conflicts

A GeForce2 GTS will support SBA.
You may need to enable SBA support in your BIOS, then enable it in the driver control panel.

Ok Tam, easy fix, you need the 40.41 hidden features patch.
Go here
Guru3DPretty sure this has the option to enable SB addressing as well as a few other useful features.

Thanks Wad and Dai-San.
But my BIOS doesn't have a switch or option to turn the SBA on or off. I'm not sure, but i think AGP card / slot could or should handle SBA - i've forgot which forum i read it.
I've tried the "40.41 hidden features patch" too, but it didn't fix my problem. My manual settings gets overriden or just plain not accepted?
Oh well, thanks for trying guys ... maybe its not even worthwhile to turn this option anyways. Or does it really make a huge (or a noticeable) speed difference.

I don't think your GF2 will look much better on 3dmark2003, even with spiffier drivers. It's not a DX9 card.

Agreed.
I was just curious about this Sideband Addressing and how to enable it in my PC. I just like to extend my PC's life ... PIII w/ GeForce2 in a 56k

Heh, my PC is in no way near dying ... could run MW:Mercs just fine in high detail! Wohooo ... tnx to that no sound acceleration tip. Still haven't tested my current setup in a huge furbrawl though ... but i think it can be handled w/ the speed boost.
And if only i could turn on this SBA feature ... who knows i might be able to run the game at 60FPS

SBA will not give you any real performance boost, it also tends to cause instability in some systems.. ever wonder why its disabled by default ?

Argh, at least let me work on it and let me experience by trying it out first. Who knows ... i may get a boost from it
