This map is designed specifically for city maps where you’d to keep a little range and shoot down the lanes. It will crit out almost anything in one shot, especially if the target has FF armor and will knock medium mechs to the ground much of the time while killing a light in one shot. With no heat sinks, continuously firing the ERLG will heat up the mech, but not unmanageably. The very slow speed I don’t consider to be much of a problem as it’s meant to be a medium range city sniper and doesn’t need the quick attack speed of an actual brawler. If the other team goes all out spawn rushing with brawlers it could get a little hairy because of the 8 second recycle time on the gauss rifles. However, a good CT or side torso shot on an incoming mech should make this Hauptmann’s job pretty easy once the brawler is in range with his weapons. It is accused of stealing kills much of the time as it will kill even a slightly damaged enemy mech with careful shooting.

Lol....use the same weapons loadout. but with FF armor, heat sinks, and with either erll x2, or erll/PPC combination for E-weps..depending on my mood...but this config IS a butcher machine...when employed correctly..

I pretty much always use a special armor unless I can really find a good use for extra tonnage. With this specific varient I can't think of one. Heat sinks aren't really needed in my opinion and I don't see what extra speed would accomplish as it has no need to quickly close with a target. Adding a PPC in place of one of the ERLG would require going to FF armor. However, with all configs they are supposed to be adapted to suit individual games.

I usually decide that a big, slow moving target in a city environment is going to get pounded the most by ballistic weapons, hence the reactive armor.

Fafnir kicks your ASS... try one with the 2 HGauss and some LXPL or MXPL in a city map. Chain the LXPL, alpha the HGauss, hits like a 100 tons of ummm... Fafnir?

I messed up several fafnir's and killed others with just a raven. Fun running around them and hammering them from behind. Plus they are slow so the artillery strikes usually hit them.

Aye, and ALL the ballistic weps suffer from lag-no-damage-bug, so I can smack a raven with both HGauss, and he doesn't even flinch.

Piloting a Fafnir requires much skill and tactical awareness. Why? Because light mechs make a bee-line for it and everyone else will hunt it as much as possible.

Fafnir is known for three things: Terrifying Heavy Guns.
Large Target
And Slow as a Dozer.

How do I get that for my raven?

I do love the smell of burning fafnir! and dashi and longbow.....

When im in a fafnir it seems like the entire enemy team is gunning for me even though i try to hang back ecm and all. but its still fun to try to stalk with a 100t machine in arena's. My fav arena faf 4 ll 2 hg ecm .

The Hauptman is my main ride in game.
