My Sidewinder has started acting up. It won't hold anymore, seems to drift. I don't think it's wore out from useage, it's only been in action for a couple of weeks (it was a spare from many moons ago). Any thoughts on what is causing the drift?
I've calibrated it several times and right after calibration it works fine but after a couple of minutes it returns to the drifting thing. tantrum.gif

*Fondles the mouse and wonders how would it work - hmmm left slide/right slide = torso twist, left button = BOOM, right button = BOOM, probably get something going with that rolling thingy. All those keys on the big flat thing; yes I believe I can continue if the Stick don't get fixed. wink.gif

Sorry I don't have that stick. Have you tried re-installing DirectX? Just a thought..

Drift on mine was from being worn out. I think youll find you have to place it in an offcenter place to keep straight.

I've got 2 SW Prec Pro's. Both have had torsotwist to the left drift since new.

Seen it in other games & on other SW Pro sticks. Figger it's normal. unsure.gif

On my old logitech this happent after 6 mounths or so. For me its a sign to go hunting 4 a new stick.
I dont bother trying to get a refund or a garante. To much fuzz. I need my stick to be acuret for online game
and the torso twist seems to be the one thing that eats up sticks pretty fast.
Its not the , ' , key is it? Which cuoses the legs to center whith the torso, and can gif the same sliding in to the left or right. Anny way, make sure its the stick.
Droopy.

Yeah, I know what u mean droopy.. I've had logitechs since I started gaming long ago. I'm currently using a FFB stick (which was a bad idea from the start) but I just love the throttle setup and having 7 buttons with a 8way hat switch. It's to bad that almost always the z axis on the stick goes bad, ruining the torso twist (which is my current problem with this one). Guess it's time for me to go shopping too. laugh.gif

Yeah, the Logitechs have a bad habit of doing that...my Wingman went bad after 3 months wink.gif

I'm currently using the Freedom (the cordless one), which I've had for nearly 6 months now, and it's stil lin really good shape. I just bumped up the deadzone the other day when I noticed I couldn't stand still, and it's all back to normal smile.gif cool.gif

I have the cordless one also and really like it. The only problem so far was after many many weeks the batteries finally died. Had respawned and there was no control. After a small panic I managed to get new batteries installed and continued to harass the enemy. laugh.gif Luckly they were not anywhere near the spawn in that case.

2 old-style gameport joys here.. left one is 12 years old and does turn and throttle.. right one is 10 years old and does elevation/declination and torso twist..both are CHproducts

im not a big fan of USB..its limitations and inflexibilty bother me..great for gamepads but not much else..

Does that work pretty good for ya chewy? I'm gonna have to do a 1v1 with ya sometime to see how manuverable your setup is compared to a single stick. I've been considering trying the dual stick myself. laugh.gif

lol ask jimmy sometime...weve played a few wolfhound duels and he was able to ID me as an old mw3 C1 player..heh

he cant believe im dual joystick..as hes a skirt wearing mouse user.. tongue.gif

but yes i use a Y-cable from CH products ..my left hand is an old CHmach 1,,one of those old ones that you can turn off the recenter lock on each axis.. so my throttle is free while my turn is set to recenter..

my righthand is a CHflightsick pro i bought in 93.. 4 buttons and a hat..i dont use the hat for views but instead for Weapon Group switch, coolant flush and weapon select..only thing i use keyboard for is radar management..

btw i can use this config in most any game that has 4 axis support, not just mw4..with absolutely no modification (ie any flight sim)

Im told by a couple techhead friends that you CAN get USB to support 2 Joys but it is hard to accomplish and is finicky and can screw up at the drop of a hat..

let me know if you might need further explanations..np
