This has happened to me twice now.
I try to make a new mech and I selecte, say a S Cat. The name that pops up, and the graphic displayed is of a Sunder.
If I click to the weapons tab, there is the S. Cat with the correct slots.
I can configure and save and the variant will be saved under the Sunder name, even though it is a S. Cat is I select it for play.

Clear out all your varients then add them back one at a time
This was a problem that often popped up with Vengence/BK. But ti's the 1st time i've heard it in Mercs. I think it's caused by a corrupt varient file

Absolutely Exactly as Beaker said. It is a bad variant causing that problem.

You've got a variant in there (and it might even have been downloaded from us) that has a filename the game can't recognize correctly. That pushes the whole list out of order and screws everything up.

Thanks for your help.
I will root out the errant file. If it came from the zip of the mech variants I downloaded from here, who should I inform?

Well, it is definately one of the mech from the pack from what I can see. I removed all of them first and the problem seems to have vanished.
I will track down the exact variant and then sned an email.
Thanks again

As best I can tell the problem is with the Mad Cat II variants. If I remove them the problem is gone and stays gone.
