With the right software and plugins, even artisticly challenged people like Card can do some amazing work

eh, neither do I. It's all composition work. Now some of the people I work with, they have talent.

I think you're joking a bit there, but it's absolutely true anyway.

My Mom's a true artist. She paints and draws and does stuff with chalk and has even sculpted a bit here and there - so I grew up knowing exactly what true artistic talent is and knowing that I didn't have any. Fury is another good example of someone who has genuine talent - which is precisely why she'll be much, much better at this than I am once she has enough experience with the software.

All I do is hack images. Add a few effects here and there, and try to achieve a certain balance with things. It's a fun hobby and you can make some things that people enjoy looking at, but it sure as hell ain't art.

You can do similar with PS7, it's the easiest thing in the world once you know a few tricks.

I spent two years learning to draw manga and I still suck when compared to folks like my sister or grandpa (both of them get paid for it) so I've settled in with coloring the lineart I get. I'm not sure if that counts as art but I also have made some decent pictures with pencil only.
