Really I would say a Bushie is your best bet. cool.gif

I started to take my *standard* Hunchy. CLBX20 and 2 LL. The only problem with the one you posted, for me, is no laser support weapons. I have a fear of running out of ammo:)

The running out of ammo fear is a well founded one... I would have had second in my last match except I ran out right before I could get the kill. I was running a bushy with clbx20, RAC2' and cstrk6's. Doubtful if I would take that config again even if I hadn't run out of ammo, but it worked for that match. Seems the sound of the RACs chewing at them had a lot of pilots simply trying to get away... It's the only thing I can logically come up with, at any rate. Otherwise, who would run from a bright pink bushwhacker?

Just furthers my belief that guns are good psychology biggrin2.gif .

Hmm....I use the same Bushie, but slower, and with a ton of extra ammo for each gun. You're not gonna run out of ammo in the time it takes to kill everyone.

Just take out the surrounding people (or let them do your dirty work), then just kinda slink closer and closer to the other people, in passive. Just don't go and engage them, wait untill it's down to one-two people.

If there's one, well...kill him...duh. If there's two, go in and shoot the strongest one untill either of the other two are dead.

Didn't take the advice, eh? POW.gif (ammo on 20 is a good idea, maybe unnecessary on a 10)

The CLBX20/CLBX10 combination is very popular in the Solaris Mediums, you'll see it on Scats, Hunchies, and Bushies. I usually ran a Bushy with a 20/10 and an ERMedLas (84kph, BAP, lots of FF, stolen from Victor Davion). For more open maps like Coliseum, I swapped out the 20 for another 10, and the ERMed for an ERLL.

There are, however, other ways to go in the mediums. People had success with Laser/LBX/Streak Ryos, sneaky Streakboat Hellspawns, even Heavy Gauss Hunchies (not a great brawler, but a heck of a finisher). Like most things Mechwarrior, there is no one config that is the key to Solaris, rather the key is using the config you bring in the right way.

Just to be clear, I did not run out of ammo, ....going out in fourth, I died much to soon for that smile.gif

My Solaris Med was the 20/10+MedLas Bushie. With a little creative armor placement, you can fit an extra tonne of ammo on the 20. The 10 will usually last unless you are an especially bad shot or the other mech just won't flippin pop! (both have happened to me) The Medlas is for flinging monkey poo at the other mech while your LBXs recycle and when you run out of ammo. And, you still have enough tonnage to go 90+ km/h.

I use a BushWacker with:
2CUAC5s +1 ton ammo each
1CLRM15 + 1 ton ammo
1 Large XPulse Laser.

I don't recall the other specifics.

In single player I have never lost a in Solaris with this Mech. Came close once or twice, but never lost. I would guess the number of games to be around 50 or 60.

I have played around with the Clan AC10 and A Clan Pulse Laser, but I prefer the short recycle time of the CUAC5s.

I can often target a mech and run towards him (starting from near 500-600 meters) and take him down before I reach him (or he me).

I should say that I regularly get 4-6 kills per match. I have never run out of ammo during a match.

We are primarily talking about the MWL Solaris competition. The tactics for playing against human opponents are a bit different than for the computer AI. If you like this type of play, please come by our servers tomorrow (Saturday) for an all day Solaris-style event. Also, check out the MWL Solaris Page for more information.

I will be checking this out.

Thanks!
