For a sniper role try 3LL and 2CG. Manages heat well and will turn most mech's core red in one shot.

Heavy Gauss, Clan Gauss, ISPPC, ERLL, jets, ECM. Runs a little hot after a while so use as much of the 600 full alpha range you have as possible.
Factory, Rubblepile, etc. It's a fun "burst-from-cover-and-smash-someone" type of mech, then spoil the return shot with the ERLL. Or spoil their shot on your way in/up if they already know you are there, and lay the smackdown afterwards.

Pure evil--Slightly different from Kalies
Heavy Gauss+1, clan gauss,
3erllas, ~63kph, ECM JJ some heatsinks (I forget). Good ranged fire with lasers and clan gauss. Same config on Highlander or gladdy is slower, worse heat and only slightly more armor than the Vic.
I have knocked down up to Black Knight with a full alpha up close with it. It overheats a little so be prepared to chain the erllas if things close to brawler range. But people always want to get close, so feed them some heavy gauss to the chest

That's Wad's original Pugilist config (from the Unboating Guide), though since MP1 came out you can get better damage with 3CHMLs than the original 7ISMLs.

Well, if you really want a tro config, go right ahead, but if you change your mind and you want a bit more firepower, you might want to think about swapping those heat sinks for another ac20... or something... That's a lot of heat sinks for 2 ml and 2 flamers.

That would be HGR+1,CLBX20,HMDL,ISML,ECM,JJ, stock speed, and 22 tons of specialty armor to top it off.

I haven't used it in ages, because the Victor is such a common mech, but it's a really nice config. The HGR gives you a decent punch out to midrange while you close in to use your LBX and mediums lasers. The specialty armor is great, particularly because the Victor is a sturdy mech to begin with. You can also swap the heavy gauss out for a HYP20 if you want better recycle time. Just add an extra ton of armor.
Also, if I took it out again these days, I'd probably take two HMDL, because I've just gotten used to higher heat-bigger punch mechs these days. But the variant as stated above runs nice and cool, so you can just forget about your heat while using it.

The two vics I use...
My most sucessful is 67 KPH, ECM, JJs, Adv. Gyro.
HGR+1 ton of ammo
CGR+1 ton of ammo
2xInferno SRM2
16 tons of FF armour
For street fightning...
92.02 KPH, ECM.
2xLBX20
1xFlare
16t of FF armour
You could trade the flare launcher and a downgrade to 87KPH for an extra ton of ammo per gun and an IS LL
