I never got that whole transparency thing down....
Notice on the outside of the picture there's a bunch of white burrs? How do I get rid of those...?
I'm going out of my tiny mind trying to figure it out....

Aahhhh.... those little white burrs were the bane of my existence for the longest time. When in photoshop, and you select "Save for Web" make sure you check the Matte color over to the right hand side. Uneven edges are normally give additional pixels in .gif form in order to make them blend more smoothly with their background. That's the Matte. So when you save it, you need to select a matte color that will be as close to the color of the web page it will be displayed on. A real bitch on these forums, since the colors alternate, but a dark grey should do you ok.
Hope that helps

what I've found in photoshop when making stuff for a transparent background.
base layer just transparent, nothing else added.
Make your "stuff" on new layers.
your output should be clean if you do a save as rather than save for web as it won't try to blend anything.
Used to have problems in micrografx since it wanted to make a certain color range as transparent, and you had to do the equivalent of a want tool to select.

No......it's a Piranha. Close though....
This is WAY scarier.

This is the original picture. It's 20 tons. Runs at 151 KPH, carries 2 erML, a ERsl, and 12 machine guns.

Sandy, that sig looks great - but if I were you I'd downize that monster just a little but. Sigs on most forums seem to look the best at around 500 pixels wide - and don't worry, people will still be able to make out the details just fine.
Thy, the fonts in Fury's sig are Intrepid Extra Bold and Exocet.

Sure thing. Tomorrow. Right now, I can't stand the thought of mucking around in Photoshop at the moment.

Thy- when it comes to doing pictures in fonts.... just go with the widest, fattest ones you can find. One of my favorite ones to use is Mobile Infantry, as well.

That sig looks absolutely awesome

Did you colorize the B&W picture? And if so, can you explain how you went about it?

Yes I did. AND NO I WILL NOT!!!
Heh heh....
Ok, what you do is take your magic wand and select the white areas of the picture. Make different selections for different body parts. For each selection create a new layer. Fill in each selection with the color white. Start plugging in styles and experiment.
I'll do some airbrushing on it tonight.

Anyway... nice work
