Hey guys,

Seein' as Im here Id better start work on a fancy sig. I've got lots of experience of drawing and gfx but not much of MW. Can anyone suggest the best way of getting screen shots from the game, especially pics of my mech posing. Any idea how I can get a shot of a mech against a saturated primary colour backdrop, would make keying it out a whole lot easier.

Oops guess thats 2 questions but any help much appreciated.

Honestly, the best way to get a good screenshot is to crank your graphics settings to the max, host your own server, drop in Camera Mode and have a friend pose for you in the 'Mech (and with the skins and decals) of your choice.

Although if all you want is a head and torso shot you can also drop by yourself, switch to third person view and then look backwards.

Thanks, sounds easy enough. Presume I could make myself a map which was all blue/ green to make keying the background easier.

Any idea if such a map exists? Or do I have to learn how to make maps as well? This is like going back to school, but much more fun and more explosions. Come to think of it I blew stuff up in school as well. hey ho.

Realistically though, you could do far worse than asking for help here. Wildcard is the current SigGod of the premisis. Ask him smile.gif

Thanks foir the advice guys n' gels. Ive made a start so watch this space for an awsome sig graphic. (Ego? Me? Never!) wink.gif

Can anyone advise on what the max acceptable sig size is here? Both in terms of screen size and file size, Iwouldnt want to take more than my share of bandwidth, I still feel for guys still using dial up connections.

I think 500x250 is the average sig, I'm not sure about file size but if you use Jpeg format, it should be fine.

I'm not sure about the dimensions, though somewhere it used to say that they couldn't be over 50k in size.

As I remember:

  • No more than 70k in size
  • No more than 500 pixels wide by 500 pixels high

Thanks for the tip on the BigBlue map Wildcard!

That was very helpful...

or be like me and decide what map you want the mech in, and do about 50 pics of the mech in the map you want. look at em, pic one that you can see has potential, and use it smile.gif. upclose and way out, firing and moving, posing and not, etc

These are all pretty good guidelines to go by. I don't worry about filesize too much (as long as it doesn't get out of hand) but I usually restrict myself to 500 pixels wide and 250 or so tall. You can go taller than that if you want to, but I prefer the 'banner type' (wider rather than taller) so people don't have to scroll so much to get past it.
